Ponjesly College of Engineering proudly announces the implementation of Thermal Engineering M.E along with already existing UG and PG courses.

The newly introduced Thermal Engineering is in great demand in the global arena. It's importance is well understood as opportunities are awaiting in forefront. It provides thorough knowledge about thermal process. As it also leads to research it has a great appeal to the industries.

Being the core subject of mechanical engineering, the candidate who completes PG with thermal Engineering can compete easily in the recruitment of scientist in the Central government organization like DRDO, ISRO, and BHEL and in many reputed state government as well a private concerns. On the other hand the Institutions are providing red carpet welcome to make their students to be real mechanical Engineers.

Our strength lies in the cooperative work of tactful chairman and well trained man power. Our department has a competent and committed faculty who are drawn from industry practicing professionals and academicians to enhance the delivery of academic programs in the department.

Our department is proud to have the most sophisticated state - of -the art Laboratory facilities as its main strength with a team of dedicated and highly experienced Para staff and lab staff to guide and help the students in the laboratory course work.

Students of our department are encouraged to read and publish papers in journals and motivated to participate in national and international conference in both UG & PG level. They are also encouraged to work on projects either individually or on teams.

  • To conduct experiments on the performance test of petrol engine, diesel engine cooling tower, refrigeration system, heat pump system, solar water heater and boiler efficiency testing, solar radiation measurements etc…
  • To study the properties of fuel oils, biomass, biogas.
  • To study the fuel cell system thermal storage system.


Use of standard application software for solving heat transfer problems like heat transfer analysis of NTU Method, LMTD Method, Convection, Conduction, Radiation, critical radius of insulation, lumped heat transfer analysis etc….


To conduct seminar on recent trends of Thermal Engineering like Nano Fluids, Phase Change Material etc…


To develop the ability to solve a specific problem right from its identification and literature review till the successful solution of the same. To train the students in preparing project reports and to face reviews, motivate to publish article in standard journal and viva voce examination.
