DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
The Department of Information Technology was established in the year 2006 and is committed to prepare the students to take on appropriate professional positions upon graduation also to grow into leadership positions, the syllabi of the course are uniquely designed. In addition to the prescribed university syllabus, the following special initiatives have been introduced by the department to prepare the graduates to meet the challenges of the dynamically changing IT industry.
We provide independence to the students to choose project topics that are state-of-the-art as well as industry relevant. Depending on the project area chosen by the students, the department appoints a faculty, who has experience in the area or related areas, as project supervisors. Students get the unique opportunity to communicate and interact with relevant industry professionals who will acts as Project Mentors. The database of the project mentors and communication modalities are controlled by the Head of the Department.
A personality development course designed to help the students to discover themselves and to horn their interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
The department organizes special interactive programme for final year students to boost their confidence and competence in technical areas of Information Technology and to enable them to excel in responding to technical interview questions.
Keeping in view of the diverse background of the students, ‘Introduction to Problem Solving’ has been designed as a bridging course to lay strong foundation in problem solving. This course helps the students to enhance their logical thinking. The main objective of the course is to assist the students, who came from Biology background, to reduce their apprehensions towards C programming.
An exclusive aptitude training programme in Technical non-Technical, to prepare the students for placement as well as for other competitive examinations.
Seminars and discussions with experts from industry as well as academics are organized regularly to provide a platform for the students to keep abreast with latest developments.
To integrate continuous evaluation into the teaching-learning progress, Performance Enhancement Tests are conducted on every day first hour. Through this evaluation the teacher continuously monitors the progress of the students. The process of learning is also monitored and if needed be altered. The quality of the product of the learning is also assessed.
